Here is a great new blog site called skisite.com – I have started posting there and it is a really good go-to for the latest ski info!

If you want to be a part of the blogging community, you can email me and I will pass on the information.  They are even allowing people to post reviews on items that they are being sent from companies.  This means free gear for you and an honest review for them.

Let me know if you are interested.

Bear Creek Mountain – New Sponsor!

November 22nd, 2008

Bear Creek Mountain Resort has agreed to sponsor our club, finally!  By being partnered with Bear Creek, we receive several benefits that you may want to take advantage of.

  • Cheap 6 session passes!  And I mean cheap: for lift tickets only, 6 passes is only $100!  This is only $16/lift ticket!  Holy moley!  For lift and ski rental, it is $150.  For lift and board rental, it is $190.  The package is even cheaper if you include lessons…
  • Cheap Season Passes!  An off-peak season pass is only $190 (weekdays and non-holidays only).  An unlimited pass is only $350 (you save $140)!

This is an awesome deal and everyone in the club can take part in it.

Click here for the website and enter this information:

GROUP NAME: WS 152 (no space-its case sensitive)
PASSWORD: SKI MAWR (no space-its case sensitive)

Be aware of the regulations before purchase:

*        Six-session/season passes are non-transferable
*        Passes expire at the end of the 2008-2009 season and may not be rolled over to another year
*        No refunds will be issued for unused portions of the six-session pass
*        No refunds will be issued for any reason on a season pass
*        Participants of the six-session program who are getting lessons must be at least 6 years old
*        Minors renting equipment require the signature of a parent or guardian. Parental release forms are available on our website.
*        If you lose your pass there is a $25 replacement fee
*        Off peak passes and 6 session passes are valid Monday through Friday all day and after 4:00pm on weekends and resort holidays
*        Resort holidays for the 2008-2009 season are December 25, 2008 through January 1, 2009, January 19, 2009 and February 16, 2009.

When purchasing seasons passes, you will need to have handy: credit card for purchase, full name, address, phone number and birth date of each of the pass holders.

Free Lift Tickets!

November 22nd, 2008

This is REAL: I actually won two lift tickets last year and raffled them off to members of the club last year! I also got word from two members saying that they had won, also.

All you have to do is deal with one email a day that is quite useful: a snow report for each mountain in the PA area. This way, you can keep up to date on where the snow is and which mountains are prime for skiing and snowboarding.

All you have to do is:

  • Sign up with your email and state
  • In the ‘friends email’ box, make sure you put charview@brynmawr.edu
  • click ‘sign up’

This will automatically enter you to receive free lift tickets. I will also get re-entered for the Ski/Snowboard club.

Also, if you visit a mountain, be sure to go to the website to Post a Snow Report” and “Post a Review” doing either will enter you AGAIN for free lift tickets to the resort of your choice. If you are going on the December 6th ski trip, this would be a wise thing to do.

IF YOU WIN LIFT TICKETS THIS SEASON, BE SURE TO POST IT ON HERE; I would be really interested to see how many people from our club receive them!
